Posibleng mahirapan si dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez na tanggihan ang imbitasyon ng Senado kaugnay ng pagdinig sa umano’y mga anomalya sa flood control projects, ayon kay House Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno.
“Well theoretically he can choose not to attend,” saad ni Puno sa panayam ni Karen Davila, dahil umano sa umiiral na interparliamentary courtesy.
Pero paliwanag niya, “The procedure there is that, as outlined by Senator Tito Sotto, they would course the request through the Speaker of the House who then relays it to the member.”
Gayunpaman, binigyang-diin ni Puno na magiging “masamang senyales” kung hindi sisipot si Romualdez sa imbitasyon ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
“I think with the way things are, it would be very difficult for ex-former Speaker Romualdez to not attend. It could be a very bad sign if he does not attend. I would imagine he would attend if he were invited,” dagdag pa ng Deputy Speaker.
