P7.4 milyong gastos sa security, staff sa biyahe ni VP Sara

 Wala umanong gastos ang gobyerno sa mga biyahe ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa ibang bansa mula Hulyo 2024 hanggang sa kasalukuyan at ang ginastusan ng pondo ng bayan ay ang kanyang mga security at staff na umabot sa P7.473 milyon.

Ito ang inihayag ni VP Duterte sa pagdalo niya kahapon sa budget hearing ng House appropriatons committee kaugnay ng inihihirit na P902 milyong pondo ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) para sa 2026. Nag-waive ng kanyang parliamentary courtesy si VP Duterte at mag-isang dinepensahan ang panukalang budget.

Matatandaang ipinagpaliban ang delibe­rasyon noong Biyernes matapos hindi dumalo ang Bise Presidente at isang assistant secretary lamang ang ipinadala bilang kinatawan.

Sa briefing, nagtanong si House Deputy Minority Leader at ACT Teachers partylist Rep. Antonio Tinio at Kabataan Rep. Renee Co kaugnay ng madalas na pagbiyahe abroad ni Duterte na umabot anila sa 13 trips simula 2024.

“The total [OVP expenses] for nine trips for both the security and OVP personnel is P7,473,887.70 as of July 31,” ayon kay Duterte.

“No public funds were used for all my travels. I did not charge representation, I did not charge tickets, I did not charge per dime for all my travels in the Office of the Vice President,” dagdag niya.

Tinanong din nina Tinio at Co ang paggamit ng confidential fund ng OVP pero tumangging sagutin ito ni Duterte. “This is the subject of an impeachment trial, and I would not like to discuss the defense for the impeachment trial,” sabi ni Duterte.

“Wala pong impeachment trial sa kasalukuyan. In fact it is archived in the Senate,” sagot naman ni Tinio.

Agad namang tinapos ng panel ang pagdinig sa panukalang pondo ng OVP at nakatakdang isalang sa deliberasyon sa plenaryo ng Kamara.
